Everything you need to know about flooring on stairs. Info and ideas!
Here are some considerations when planning the design and construction of your engineered hardwood stairs.
Stair Foundation and Supports
For precision results, supporting stair frames and stringers made out of metal or CNC routed plywood laminate/medite are a great best practice. Featured here are oak waterfall treads by WOODlife. They were crafted with a rake back angle of 83 degrees and veneered edges. Thanks to these supporting CNC routed prefabricated stringers all of these details line up beautifully!
Closed Stair Treads
Closed stair steps are made with a tread, edge, and riser. Open steps are made with no riser. Featured here are a set of closed stairs. We call this 90 degree edge a waterfall because of its continuous design.
